My 5th Barkday ~ And NoOne Remembered...

They did it again. My birthday was February 1st, and guess what...My folks totally forgot about it. How sad is that when your own family forgets your 5th barkday? Pretty sad. Oh well, Mommy has promised me a nice walk up the mountain to help make up for this huge oversight. Anybody elses folks ever forget their birthday, or am I the only one?? I don't know how to hold a grudge, so life goes on.

Oh yeah, and I am supposed to tell you why I'm a great Cracker Critter. Well, I have a spring on my rump and that makes me very bouncy and cracker-like. I have an amazing sense of humor...Love to play jokes on Mama whilst she is in the bathroom. I'm always running off with her clothes that she lays out for the morning. I like to tug at her t-shirt, socks and other things too...as you will see in this video! And, I have a side gig as a singer, and I've been told my voice occasionally cracks (is that a stretch?). Soooo, I think I am a good candidate for best Cracker Critter!!

My Peep Is A Flake...Here's Proof!

Here is an explanation of these pictures. On December 11th our daddy was putting knobs on Mommy's built in,hickory cabinetry, per her request. These cabinets are quite high off the ground, so Mommy told Daddy (aka FlakePeep/FP for this story) exactly where she wanted all the knobs. FP put the bottom 3 knobs just where she had requested. Ditto for the top right and middle knob. But, when he drilled the hole for the last knob and inserted it, it was about 3 inches lower than the others!! When FP said, "Oh oh!" Mom ran into the living room and when she saw what he had done, she burst out laughing. Daddy laughed a little too, after he got over his initial shock. BOL.

We chose this to show that Daddy is a flake at times...Mommy is a flake all of the time, so couldn't hone in on any one example of her flakiness.

A Walk Near Squaw Peak

We went for an awesome walk near our condo a couple days ago. The folks and our hooman sissy and her husband all walked up the little peak right where we live. That Christmas tree made out of lights is put on the hill every year by the Point Hilton, who is our next door neighbor. At night it looks like a real tree. There were lots of cacti and other thorny plants too. We didn't see any rattle snakes or critters, though we know that there are javalina, quail, roadrunners and bobcats on that hill. It was lots of fun going with the whole family. Then when we got home, we all took a nice, lonnnnnng rest!

You Will Never Guess Our Wonderful Surprise!!

Today Daddy took us both out to Smelly Dog ( http://www.smellydogaz.com ) to get our hairs washed & nails clipped. Not our favorite thing to do, but we got to be with our dad, so we were happy. When we returned home, to our great amazement and surprise, this is what we saw over the fireplace! Take a good look pooches and poochettes. Yes, an Airedale and a Welsh Terrier were both at the first Christmas!! We were so happy to see that, because we have heard all the cool things that Jesus did when He grew up and how He is waiting for us on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge with all our friends. As Christians, our folks are getting ready to celebrate one of their high holy days and are reflecting on all Jesus has done for them in their lives, and giving thanks. We are just thrilled that we can play a small part in that!!

Helping Trim Our Little Tree & Happy Birthday Jess!

Happy Thanksgiving ~ What We're Thankful For...

Here Hootie and I are keeping warm by the fire. We're thankful for our fireplace. We both got our hairs cut last Thursday so we need to get extra warmth. We are thankful that we get groomed by wonderful Jody. It "warmed up" to 40F degrees and started raining yesterday and now there is lots of GREAT slush all over! We are very thankful for the great outdoors that we can run in. We're looking forward to a tasty Thanksgiving meal tomorrow & hope all our friends have a Happy Thanksgiving Day too! We love you all!!

I went to The Pooch Parlor on Thursday all by myself. Mommy wanted to try out the groomer there and thought I was the better candidate, since my hairs grow so much faster than Baby's. This black bear is harmless. He just sits here and holds the TV remote control. Mom's buddy Cathi gave it to her. And, the little alpaca is a fun companion. He is really soft and nice for cuddling! K9 Karnival Fun Last Saturday For Pawsitive Works

Mommy finally got home from Grama's and sprung us from end of summer camp at Happy Tails on Wednesday. We told her it's time for her to spend quality time with US and we want her full attention. She took us for a nice long walk along the Deep Creek Trail and gave us peanut butter popsicles. Then on Saturday we had so much fun schmoozing with folks and pooches at the K9 Karnival. FOUND!! BabyRocketDog Is Missing

228am ~ She just came home! Nevermind. Thanks Maggie,Mitch & Sue!!

Please pray that BabyRocketDog is found safe very soon. It's 2:10am and BabyRocketDog IS MISSING. She ran off (after a deer I think) around 11pm. I've gotten in the car and looked for her for over an hour and even took a flashlight and looked around my woods. She, under normal circumstances comes when I blow a whistle. No response.I called Sheriff dispatch and she hasn't been turned in. I'm beside myself. She is no where to be found. I'm praying that someone just didn't call me because it's so late. I'm giving up for the night. I asked dispatch to call me at any hour if she is turned in. I'm so afraid for her. I hope someone doesn't plan on keeping her. I just got home to Idaho today and picked her and Hootie up at Happy Tails around 5pm. She must be so confused now. Please pray for her safe return and use your PawPower.

Wheelie Gets A Name & HOotie Taste Tests Cesar!

HOotie is blurry here because he was so excited about the delish Cesar Canine Cuisine he was testing. He was sent a package of different flavors of food, and also Cesar Treats. I, BabyRocketDog, was so jealous because the meals are for small dogs. HOotie did let me share his Cesar® Treats Softies Medley™ though. They are our new favorite treat! The people from Cesar not only sent a package for HOotie to test, but also sent a package for us to give away.

The Corn Thief & More News...

Mommy bought 3 pieces of fresh sweet corn at our local produce stand the other day and placed them on the counter when she got home. Well, you all know who loves to counter surf. Yup, Baby Rocket Dog stole a piece and even figured out how to husk it! Mommy was not too happy about that, but then the camera came out and all was forgiven. BOL.

Monkey and Moose decided to take a little ride on wheelie, Mr.?. Algy bear was partially asleep in front. Our mommy really loves Algy bears. They are from 1950s Ding Dong School tv show and she was given one when she was a baby while in the hospital for one of her many operations. Her evil ex-husband got rid of her Algy 40+ years ago and that made her very sad. Luckily OUR daddy is a hero and he replaced her Algy when one was found on eBay about 7 years ago. Now there are several Algys living with us...and our mom has learned that her stuffies (& now wheelie) must always be kept out of our reach. Thank you Miss Lamb, for repairing Algy after our tug of war game! bol. Now we're going to try to post this. Blogger has been a pain lately.

We have a new addition to our home. He's this little Dale fellow that our mommy adopted from Miss Lamb in Iowa. We are still trying to think of a proper name for him so until we do, he will be referred to as Mr.?. Now, we would love to have your suggestions for a name for him. A Day At The Car Show...

My mommy took me to a car show today. We actually just planned on going to the Farmers Market, but it happened that that Rod Benders Car Show was going on. It was really cool, because the whole main street was closed off and some side streets too. People were walking all around with their dogs on the streets and lots and lots of cars were parked with their hoods (bonnets to you Brits!) opened. I loved it because people kept stopping and saying how handsome I am and letting me lick their faces and WANTING me to jump up on them! Mom would say, "Hootie, no!" and they'd say, "Oh it's fine. I love dogs." Over and over again that would happen. Mommy finally gave up. In the night they'll have something called a street dance but Mom won't take me saying something about my dad being the only one she would attend a dance with, and he's in Arizona for another few weeks sooooo.

After we were done at the car show I got to help some middle school cheer leaders wash our car. Then I got a pumpkin treat as a reward and layed with my belly in the cool grass while the girls finished off washing our Jeep. It was a wonderful day for me. Baby Rocket Dog stayed home to watch the cabin and was promised a special day with Mom some other time. It's good to get a little one on one time with our hoomans sometimes!

Being Cute Is Getting Exhausting!

Our mama likes to take photos of me longing to go outside. Here I am, yes, longing once again.

Since it has been raining for several days we've been kind of restricted to quarters. Here I am looking cute for the camera. She says I can't complain after my last post. Finally, I had to run up to the loft and get camouflaged. I was just too exhausted!

Critters @ A Montana Auction

Mommy went to the Amish school auction in Montana on Saturday and left us home. She rode along with some neighbors, so said that is why we couldn't go with her. She snapped these photos of a few 4-leggeds that she saw at the auction so we could see what we missed. That little malti-poo was a real cutie. Very photogenic. Sure wish we had gone along. Oh well. We're Clean ~ But There's A Fungus AmoungUs!!

Just a quick note. We both went to our vet, Dr. Hall, today and got our yearly shots and check up. He said my (BRD) teeth are perfect with NO tarter!! Hootie had a little on his 2 back teeth and Doc got rid of it. Then Mommy asked a strange request of him: Would you make sure they don't have ringworm? He got out his black light and checked us out thoroughly. Also gave a good visual. No ringworm here. No ringworm there. Then Mom surprised us by telling him she thinks she has that fungus on a spot on her belly!! (Her Dr. appt. is on Thursday.) Image our shock and dismay. We sure hope she doesn't pass that on to us. Sheesh! If you really wanna be grossed out, go online and google ringworm...Our mom is a paranoid freakaziod after reading all that stuff. More later cats and jammers!

Look Who We Visited For Mother's Day...

The lady in these pictures is our mommy's favorite person, Ilse. We drove to Montana to visit Miss Ilse and her little pooch, Tica2, for Mother's Day. We had the best time visiting with them. Miss Ilse is from The Rheinland of Germany originally, but has been a US citizen for many years. Mommy and she went out for a fine luncheon buffet AND they didn't take us!! Sheesh. At least we got to get treats and play with Tica2 after they returned to Ilse's cottage. The last picture is of me (Hootie) after Mommy, BabyRocketDog and I returned to our hotel in Kalispell. It was a bit chilly, so I got to wear my jammies that Sowena the Lakie's mommy sewed for me. That little Tica2 (a Malti-Poo) is SO much fun to play with, and as you can see, she wore me out!!

Hootie's Loft Spot for Sleeping At Night...

Last Summer Mommy bought this odd, folding chair at Staples for Hootie. She keeps it in the folk's loft bedroom so he can sleep there instead of their bed at night. All she needs to say is,"Hootie, chair!" and he jumps in his chair and curls up. Only problem is it isn't slip covered, and can't be thrown in the wash machine. So, a washable throw now acts as a cover. Doesn't he look comfy?? Have a great weekend and week ahead!

We Got Our Hairs Cut!

Mommy said we were pretty shaggy and I (BRD) was really fussing when Daddy brushed my hair, so last week we went to see Jody, our favorite groomer. Hootie is cold all the time now, so has been wearing his sweaters and jacket around the cabin. (Sheesh! Mom keeps it at 60degrees here!)

ON another note, is anyone having problems with using the "font size, bold, italic, or link & spellcheck, etc" features here on Blogger?? We haven't been able to get any of them to work for over a week now. Through shortcuts bold/italic has worked, but the command buttons on the top of the blogspot toolbar do not. Any help out there?

Here we are here helping Mommy open the huge box that came from Addie of Raising Addie.

We were the prize winners of this wonderful little girl dog gift box. Addie's mommy knew that we planned on giving it to our little neighbor if we won, so she graciously included extra special pressies for us too!! What a gal! Thanks so much Addie and Addie's mommy. We love you.

Hootie LOVED this flat stuffie bat that Addie sent for him. He has demolished it. But good!

This is Tazzie, the little gal to whom we gave the big princess prize. She was rescued by our friend Stephanie a couple months ago. Taz was used as a breeder at a puppy mill for 5 years and is so happy to be living with Stephanie and finally living the good life. She is such a happy girl!
Her mommy said she will send us a pic of her in the tiara when she gets her hairs cut again.

And here I,Baby Rocket Dog, am modeling my mustache ball. I love it!!

A few days ago Hootie received a package with a tasty Hartz bone and toy in it. It was from Autumn's Birthday Costume Contest. He hogged up the bone and can you believe it, he even growled at me when I tried to help him eat it?! Sheesh. We didn't get any photos of that, but wanted to tell Miss Autumn that Hootie has enjoyed his loot a lot. When we get home to Idaho Hootie said he'll talk Mommy into taking us to visit Autumn's DaleFellow, Jackson, so he can deliver a butt-sniff from her. Well buddies, please go visit both Autumn's and Addie's blogs. Both are filled with great posts. (Addie's last post was on the pooches of the devastation in Japan. There is an awesome video of dog loyalty.)

So, to conclude, we have been heaped with wonderful gifts lately and are very grateful. ALSO, our mom finally won a bid on a camera just like her broken one on eBay, so in a few weeks we'll be back in business!! Hooray!!

A Fantabulous Tongue Contest!!

Look At The Sweet Stuff I Got In The Mail!!

This is Flat Sally Ann and me. You know she's my #1 sweetie, right?

She got me the upsome most cool card for V-Day. See all the kisses on it??

And here I am with Sally Ann's picture, enjoying one of the chewy treats she sent me.
She also got me this awesome lobster, which immediately had a squeekerectomy
performed by an Airedale who shall remain nameless.

Since Sally Ann sent 2 doggy treats I thought I had better give
the Airedale (who shall remain nameless) one.
She would have stolen it anyway, so it was better to appear magnanimous!

Here I am choosing my new lobster over the old one. The old one is missing all of it's stuffing and was in really bad shape. He was my favorite toy for quite some time, before BabyRD killed him. Mommy threw him away after I chose my new S.A.Lobster as my new favorite. RIP old friend.

All of this cool stuff pictured above was sent to me by Sally Ann from Atlanta, Georgia...my Welshie/Georgia Peach!! Sally's dear mama, Lisa, even sent my folks a little Valentine heart with hooman chocolates in it. Daddy ate most of them since he's the chocolate bear in our house. lol. The very best pressie of all that was in the package from Sally Ann was a headshot of my sweetie AND Flat Sally Ann herself. Awesomeness!! I held off on posting this until our MM2011 Costume Contest was all wrapped up. Just want to say to sweet Sally Ann: Thank you so much for all the great pressies and Thank you for being my Valentine!! You're the bestest WelshieGal a Welshie chap like I could ever wish for!!!

Good News ~ Bad News ~ Good News & This is Post 200 For us!!!

Here we are on Mommy's & Daddy's bed enjoying a snooze.

Okay, the good news is we got 16 of the prize packages sent out finally!! The bad news is we still need 1 address. Mommy's gonna email her to get it.

Now for more bad news. Mommy's camera took a hit on Sunday and it looks like it's gone to camera heaven. Must have been the soaking rain that finished it off. Luckily with these new cameras the memory disk can be removed so we still have our photos from the PetSmart Petwalk. We'll regale you with those at a later date, since we'll need to use our archive photos until the folks scrape up enough green stuff to buy another camera. (Daddy's Nikon isn't our mommy's cup of tea.)

And finally for the last good news. Since all the excitement of MangoMinster 2011 and our Costume Contest is finally ebbing we can get a little rest around here!!

In our last post the Pooches Choice Winners were announced.

Once again, congratulations to Jake & Fergie and Jazzi for their victories.
They were chosen by a popular vote of fellow bloggers.

Mommy and Hootie and I wanted to pay tribute to our dear little friend, Dr. Dre, whom we lost so tragically last August. Dre loved to dress up and even was a winner, along with Hootie, in a local costume contest benefiting the Panhandle Animal Shelter in October 2009.
We felt it fitting to dedicate a category to him.

Our friend John lives in Trelawnyd,Wales and one of his many critters is Miss Meg the Welshie. She is definitely my mirror image in female form, so we decided to enter Norwood's Find Your Better Half Contest for MangoMinster2011. We labeled the photos so you could tell who is who!! (The cute little Scotty is George.) Norwood is going to donate $1 for each entry up to $50, and the winner gets to give it to the charity of their choice. Our charity of choice will be the Motor Neuron Disease Association, for John's brother, Andrew, who has Progressive Bulbar Palsy,a type of Lou Gehrig's Disease(ALS). Enter Our Mango Minster 2011 Side Event!

Well, it looks like the events over at Mango Minster 2011 are filling up quickly. We did not enter this year but have negotiated with MangoMomma to do a side event. SOooo, if you'd like to enter yet another event, or haven't entered MM2011 yet, and your category is already filled, there is still time to enter our MM~Costume Contest! Yes buddies, we're sponsoring a side event that is opened to all pooches and any other pets that have blogs. All you have to do is send us a picture of yourself "in costume" to our email: cassiejo(AT)juno(DOT)com , including your name and your blog address. Easy-Peasy! It can be any sort of costume and doesn't even have to be gender appropriate (as demonstrated by Hootie right here). It can be as simple as a goofy pair of glasses, a pair of mis-matched socks or a hat. Let your imaginations run wild! There will be prizes, depending upon the number and type of entries we have. This should be a fun side event. So, please costume-up, grab a camera and join in the fun. (No Photoshop please.) Jazzi's Gift Exchange Surprises!

Today we went to the Post Office and picked up a package that arrived while we were in Seattle for the Christmas holiday. (*Actually two packages from Rockford, IL...long story for later.) It was from our buddies in Jazzi's gift exchange, Lil and Angus!! Lil and Angus are Scotties and they sent BabyRockegtDog a large stuffie duck and sent me a giant, white, furry moose. Most excellent!! Baby desqeaked and destuffed her duck immediately, so it is now awaiting the stuffie fairy for reconstruction. Actually I ended up helping her by playing tug of war with it. BUT, when I opened my stuffie I wouldn't allow her to come near him. He is so soft and squeaky and mine all mine!! There was even a gift for Mommy from Evil Ed the Basset, Lil and Angus's brother's pooch: Fancy jewelry with hearts and a Scottie. WooWoo!! And last but not least, there were 2, yes, TWO jars of homemade doggy treats (with fancy paper plates and matching napkins!!!). Oh man we're in poochie heaven!! Gotta go now. My moose needs me to hug him some more.

Hello friends! We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and got nice gifts from Santa Paws. We have been in Bellevue, Washington, staying at the lovely Hilton, enjoying the rainy weather that Seattle is noted for. We bought a little tree with us for our room, but there are huge trees in the different atrium's here, so we hope to get our photos taken next to them before we leave. (Currently mom's camera needs batteries.) We are also happy to report to you that we DID get some pressies from Santa. Of course the squeakers have been excised now, but it was fun doing it. ;<) We got some wonderful eats too. Prime rib for Christmas and Doggylicious greenies as treats. Yum!! The top photos were taken of us with some cool pressies we received while still in Idaho. Thank you sooooo much to our buddies Autumn, Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh and Ruairi. We just love your gifts to us!! We're kinda busy visiting with our sissy and her husband, but we'll try to get back to you all real soon.

Here is Hootie posing under our little white Christmas tree. Notice there aren't any gifts there? That's right. Not one. Mom doesn't trust us anymore since I decided to investigate and found I like to shred tissue paper. Boy that was fun! Yesterday we got a really cool surprise: A Santa stuffie from Autumn (an adorable Lakie we met on FB) and I immediately claimed it as my own. I let Hootie have him after I had de-squeeked him. BOL. Hope you all are having fun getting ready for the holiday. We're excited since our daddy will be home tomorrow and the fun will begin! Until we meet again,

It's been snowing like crazy here and we already have about 10inches. A veritable winter wonderland! Mommy let Hootie and I run loose and romp we did!! Snow flying all over. It was great. Our high temp was 14 degrees today. Tomorrow the high is supposed to be 4degrees. Yikes, that sounds cold. I bet Hootie will be happy that he has those new* pj's.

This photo was taken right before our dad left for Phoenix. I was enjoying my time with him, but when it comes to photographs, I really like to be the center of attention.

Our 2011 SWAT engagement calendar came in the mail and we are very impressed. There are at least a zillion photos of Airedales in this lovely book, and every photo has a story about the adopted pooch. My only complaint is that I'M not featured in it anywhere!! Is that Welshie discrimination?

Here is some info about SWAT that is included in the engagement calendar. They're good folks.

We're in the lockup at Dr. Hall's for a few days while Mommy stands by our daddy's side for support. (I brought a few "pin-ups" of SallyAnn and Lacie to decorate our kennel.) Even so, we'll be popping in on you to see what's going on in your neck of the woods.

Lookie, lookie! Hootie and I are now on canvas for the ages!! This year is a "landmark" birthday for our mommy (Nov 2nd ~ 6-0 years old), so Daddy got her this wonderful birthday gift. This special portrait of us was painted by our buddy Asta's mommy, New York artist, Amarillis Kroon. We think Miss Ami is a modern day Rembrandt! Mom is so thrilled with this portrait of us that she's been carrying it around from room to room since it arrived yesterday. Last night it rested in the folk's loft bedroom. We feel quite honored that Mommy's only wish for a gift was a portrait of us. Thank you Daddy and Miss Ami for making her wish come true!!

Okay, maybe this is a little misleading. Here's the story: Mommy volunteers to clean the church's teen center once a week. It's called The Rock. Anyway, it usually takes her anywhere from 3 to 5 hours to get The Rock cleaned and she usually takes me with her. Yup, I get to help. Mostly I guard the doors, but sometimes I go up on the stage and lay down. The other day I decided to give the microphone a whirl! See the photo of me singing into it? I decided, just for the day, to change my name to Baby RockStar Dog. The only thing missing is the screaming crowd. What do ya think??

This top photo was taken at a rest stop in New York state. So, why is Mommy looking so happy that pets are prohibited?? We don't get it. She says she wanted to show us that we would have felt that we were being persecuted if we went with them. Hmmmmm.

This Boxer's name is Layla. Her mama owns a really cool gift shop that is housed in some refurbished railroad cabooses and her Grandpa was Sullivan County's veterinarian. The folks met her and the next 2 pooches while at a craft show in Pennsylvania.

This boxer is Laila Ali. Ohhhhhhhh. Now we get it! Boxer ~ boxer.This fellows name is Vedder.

This floofy girl's mama said she doesn't like other dogs. Can't understand that.

Now here are the Golden Retriever pups we told you about. They were almost 6 weeks old and lived with their mama inside cousin Jan & Mark's home in Massachusetts. Looks like they are practicing fetching the newspaper at a very young age!

These two little GoldenBoys were the only ones in their litter. Wish we could have met them.

The (lady) hoomans look funny in this picture, but we wanted to show you the beautiful GoldenGirls. Mommy says they were merely laughing, and no alcohol was involved!

We're Baaaaack ~ An Explanation!

Here's a view of where we got to go for walks.

So sorry we’ve been gone so long. Our mommy & daddy went on a trip back east so we went to “end of summer camp” at Happy Tails Bed & Biscuit. We had a great time, because Auntie Kate (the proprietor) took us on walks 4 times a day and has a fun play yard for us to play in & get nice and dirty in! Here are a few pictures of when Mommy left us off for our 10 night stay. That hooman with us is Auntie Kate. A side note here: Auntie hand fed Hootie the first night because he wouldn’t eat his food from a bowl. Now that is service!

When we got home we were so cruddy that Mom sent us out to get professionally bathed the next day!! All that lovely smell that we had acquired went down the drain. Phooey! At least now we are once again allowed up on the folks bed. BOL.

The folks took some photos while on their trip to Boston. Visited relatives in Massachusetts (with baby Golden Retrievers!) and Pennsylvania (with a 3legged Pit/Lab) so we’ll post them a little later. For now, it’s all BabyRocketDog & Hootie!! Last Saturday we went with Mommy & Dad to the 3rd annual Kootenai River Bluegrass Festival. The weird thing is, all the grass we saw was green! There was lots of terrific music all day long, and a bunch of dogs too. We had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful weather and scenery. (Wish our mom had taken more photos of the dogs though.) The Name Game ~ Frankie Furter Version (a little late!)

Frankie Furter started his own Name Game and I decided to join in the fun with Jake & Fergi, Asta and a few other pals! Mama loved me so much as soon as she met me and immediately started calling me Baby. I was pretty scared on the car trip from Cottonwood, Arizona to Phoenix and she just kept saying, "You'll be all right, Baby." So, that is where my first name came from. Next, I would crack her and Daddy up when I would get the 5 o'clock crazies, aka the zoomies! She said I looked just like a rocket dog the way I ran so fast. So, she decided Baby Rocket Dog of Phoenix should be my official name. I usually just go by Baby, but there are some folks who call me Rocket. No one just calls me Dog though. See the picture of the Rocket Dog shoes above? That is JUST what I look like when I do zoomies. Funny thing is that now our mom has several pair of Rocket Dog shoes...Seems I have inspired her footwear too. BOL.

Now Hootie's real name is Hairy Houdini. He got the name Houdini because he has been an escape artist since the day mama brought him home. Daddy was the one that decided Hairy (rather than Harry) was most appropriate. His nickname Hootie came about because mama thought that calling such a long name would be tedious, plus she always liked Hootie and the Blowfish, sooooo that's the story of Hootie's name.

We had to drive to Spokane, Washington to pick up our daddy last Friday and his plane was canceled. But, he did make it in to Spokane, but veryyyyy late at night so we got to stay at the Ramada Airport Inn. It was lots of fun because we got to introduce Flat Brutus to our pop and also got to run in the rain. Lucky for us Mommy bought us some kibble so we didn't have to starve to death. She also got us some new toys that we broke out at the hotel. On our way home we stopped to watch an Independence Day parade and also stopped in for a quick visit with our buddy Dr. Dre. We wanted to introduce him to Flat Brutus before he left Idaho. All in all, it was not a bad weekend for us. The weather was nice and our dad is home. Yippee!!

Flat Brutus At The Rodie-Odie-O!!

Can you believe that Mommy took Flat Brutus to the Kootenai River Rodeo and left US at home?! Oh well, he told us all about it when they got home. He got to ride with the beautiful Rodeo Queen. And when it was almost over our mama roped 2 cowpokes into holding him!! (She didn't really rope them!) Don't they look excited to be holding him? BOL!! We get to have Flat Brutus for a few more days so our daddy can meet him too. Maybe we'll get some shots of him in Coeur d'Alene,Idaho and Spokane, Washington too.

Flat Brutus was so sleepy when he arrived in farr N. Idaho.

It stays light here until so late that Mama had to make Brutus a sleep mask.

He then made himself comfortable on one of Baby's beds!

Fun Run In The Woods

Hey pals! Mommy & I went for a little hike in our woods today. It was soooo much fun. Especially because she let me run off leash. We went all around our property & Mom picked wildflowers as I zoomed all over the place. Boy was I bushed when we got home!! We left Hootie at home and he was not very pleased about that, but Mommy was afraid the 2 of us off leash would not be a very smart idea. He’ll get his day in the sun…Speaking of which, the SUN is out today! We’ve had over a month of mostly rain. A few days of sun have been sprinkled in between, but really a lot of rain. So, it was great getting to go out and runnnn like the wind ~ That's where I got my name from, ya know: Baby Rocket Dog!!

Miss Moose likes to munch on all the nice tender growth on our trees. Mommy was talking to Asta's mama online when we went crazy. Hootie was outside and was barking up a storm and Miss Moose totally ignored him. She just kept munching! I was inside barking. When Miss Moose left Mommy let me out on a lead. Well, I decided to try my now famous lunge and dash and once again broke another collar. Mom said this is getting old. Hmmmm. Not sure if she'll try to fix this one.

Let's Try This Again!! OuterSpace ~ George & How to Jump

We were visiting Bogart Handsome Devil's blog today and he and his mommy, Miss Lulu, showed a picture that they are having sent into outer space on the Discovery space shuttle in September. It was such a cool post and we wanted to join them flying into outer space, so we went to the site and signed on too. Unfortunately our mommy failed to make a copy of our blast off photo. Not sure if it's lost forever, but at least we were confirmed that we'll be up there with Bogie, Lulu and who knows who else. All the info is over at Bogie's blog if your interested. It is soooo cool!!

Also, we met a new fellow Welshie today. His name is George and he is adorable, as all Welshies are! He's pretty new to the blogusphere so let's show him a friendly welcome! He'd probably appreciate meeting some of you awesome pooches.

Finally, as you know, Hootie went to obedience class with 2 main goals. 1-Learning to stop jumping up on everyone and 2-to stop pulling when on leash. He is still practicing to heel and mommy will continue to work with him with yummy treats. As far as the jumping, here is what Mikkel has Mommy doing: When Hootie jumps on her she says, "Oh no,too bad" and then gives him a time out by putting him in the bathroom for 30 seconds. Then when she goes to get him out she first makes him sit, then gives him his release words,"that will do." He has caught on & sometimes runs away as soon as he hears "Oh no". Smart guy!! Anyway, now we have to show you a new trick that Hootie's trainer, Mikkel, taught him. She told mommy that some dogs just like to jump. So, to encourage orchestrated jumping, as apposed to unwanted jumping up on a person as a "greeting" she taught Hootie how to do "The Shamu". Mommy taught me (BabyRD) how to do it in 3 (YeS 3!) tries. Enjoy the following videos buddies & please try to ignore Mom's slob outfit...Keep On Truckin'?? Puhleeze Mommy! Ah well, a product of the 60's. sigh.

This is one of the "pup cakes" that Mikkel's mama, Teresa, baked especially for our obedience class graduation. We brought this one home to share with sissy, since she didn't get to attend.
The little bone had the word "DOGTOIDS" printed on it!! (Mommy couldn't get it to show.)

BTW, Teresa was our photographer today while we ran through our paces.

We want to send out a big "Thank You" to Mikkel for teaching me to be a better pooch. I hope to make her proud of me. Also "Thanks" to the really cool board ladies from Second Chance Animal Shelter who acted as aides during all the classes. And lastly, "Thank You" to Dr. Marty & Teresa Becker for raising such a cool hooman lady. I'd LoVe to jump up on her and give her sloppy kisses, but I'm learning not to jump up on hoomans anymore, soooo I'll just send her a virtual hug & smoochie:

I, Hootie, enjoy my flat lamb that Sally Ann sent me for being a RAT Council Forum member. Actually, I think of it as a love gift since Sally Ann has been my sweetheart for a while now.

Baby Rocket Dog is chewing the crown off of her bunny princess that Sally Ann sent her.

Wasn't that sweet of her to think of my big sister??

Now how did this photo get in here? I luuuurve my new flat lamby from my sweetie, Sally Ann. That purse-chew was "a plant" there by Mommy. I don't play with a purse. I'm a masculine Welshie, don't cha know?!

(Note from Mommy: He does too chew on that little purse...Until he got his new toy from Sally Ann, that was one of his favorites. He carried it around everywhere!!)

These videos show our sheer joy with the pressies Sally Ann sent us. They were mailed to our address in Phoenix and Daddy brought them with him when he came home to Idaho. Oh dear Sally Ann, we truly love our new pressies. That was sooooo sweet of you to think of us.

Hootie Acts Like A Mad Bull...

When Hootie sees a deer he acts like a mad bull!! He stiffens his front legs and kicks with his back legs. Finally Mommy got a picture of him doing his mad bull impression. Doesn't he look ferocious?!

This is me modeling my Eric-collar after it was fixed.

Last week there were 3 nasty deer in our driveway and I couldn't help myself...I lunged after them while on the leash, and broke my favorite Eric-collar. It's the cool one that our good friend ERIC sent me from England. I was so sad because I broke the plastic clasp and I broke it good. Anyway, Mommy bought another collar and disassembled it so she could install the (heavy-duty) clasps on my Eric collar. Now it's good as new! Yippee!! I'll try to be more ladylike in the future.

Happy Birthday To Me!!!

Hey fellow pooches, guess whose 2nd Barkday it is today?! My mommy forgot, but thank goodness my dear friends, Maggie and Mitch remembered and reminded her! I am sooooo glad they did too, because Mom's volunteering at our local visitor center today and I got to come with her. At first she had the dreaded Gentle Leader on me and I was all sullen and depressed (see photos), so then she took it off and I am now very happy. She said I can't jump up on visitors so I'll try my best to be good. After all, today is my BIRTHDAY!!! WOoWoo!!
